CONCRETE PERCEPTION
Installation, Object
KADK, 2017
I questioned myself if it was possible to change the perception of the concrete.
This installation aims to redefine how we approach this material. It is a column composed of 14 different modules, all created by mixing cement with sand and three aggregates: red ceramic, yellow ceramic, marble. The modules are then cut and sandblasted to reveal respectively a terrazzo texture and a more organic and rough surface.
The audience will face a symbolic element stole from architecture, a column, but revisited as an artistic installation. Concrete is the most used material in the world after water but considered as a grey boring mass it is a kind of unknown, seen as distant and rejected as a noble material.
